It's a bidding system where you allocate what you want to pay on a daily basis and whether it generates a few views/click-thrus or a ga-zillion click thrus, you only pay what your bid! "The rub" is that anyone can bid, so if you get outbid, your ad gets replaced by the high bidder. You can re-bid manually to get your spot back, or you can bid automatically by setting limits in you account by price and by time. (By time? - Yes if you have an ad campaign that runs from a start date to a finish date, you can set dates.)
